Members: Overseas Membership
To qualify for an overseas membership you will need to meet the following conditions:
- Must have permanent residence outside of the UK.
- Must be a full (male/female) member of another golf club.
Overseas memberships are subject to the following restrictions:
- May play in competitions at Stornoway Golf Club provided you hold a current handicap with the appropriate Golf Union in the country of your main residence. (A current handicap certificate must be shown to the Match & Handicap Committee prior to competition play.)
- May not use Stornoway Golf Club as “Home Club” for handicapping purposes.
As an overseas member you will receive the following benefits:
- Certificate of Membership.
- Stornoway Golf Club Bag Tag.
- Stornoway Golf Club Tie.
- Complimentary Rules of Golf Handbook.
- Complimentary Green Fee for a friend or relative accompanying you on your visit.
- Full access to the course during your visit.
- Full use of the clubs facilities during your visit.
- Open invitation to any club function being held during your visit.
- Assistance and advice regarding your travel arrangements.
The course at Stornoway Golf Club is set amongst the woodlands of Lews Castle and rises out of these towards the moorlands to the west of the town. An undulating landscape presents the golfer with a course that demands a keen shot-making ability and a canny judgement of distances.

RNLI CHARITY STABLEFORD
Another fantastic turnout for a great charity 🥰 👏🏻⛳️
The weather was better than expected for parts of the day, the warmth must have encouraged the dozens of beautiful butterflies out in the bushes beside the ladies tee on the heather 😳, after checking with Liz, the bushes are called Budleia aka Butterfly bush, they were certainly living up to the name 🦋 🦋 🤩🤷🏻♀️
Apologies to DJ, who shot an amazing round of 63, which included 8 birdies 😳🤩 👏🏻 and 41 Stableford points only to be beaten by me with the same points 😅🤦🏻♀️😂. Not that it will make DJ feel any better but I was delighted to finally break 80 in Stornoway for the first time 🥳
I’ve probably peaked too soon but I’m sure DJ will continue his high standard of golf as we both head to Newmachar next week to play in our Scottish finals 🚔 ⛳️
It was a day of high scores with Robbie Ross and Iain McFee both also managing 40 points 👏🏻
In the Junior competition continuing the high scoring and another closely fought competition between the twins with Paige winning by 1 point on 39 points, her birdie on the 10th making the difference ⛳️👏🏻
While speaking of Juniors, it was brilliant on Friday to see 8 of the older Juniors out on the course in the afternoon playing in the nines format, an online competition they compete against The Isle of Skye golf club over 9 holes, just after they had started another 8 Juniors from the Nicolson turned up to play, so we had 16 playing out on the course at the same time, something which I’ve never seen at the club and very encouraging for the development and future of the club 🤩🥳⛳️👍
