Visitors: Western Isles Swing
Whether you arrive in the Western Isles in Stornoway or on Barra, you will rarely encounter a golfing challenge such as the ‘Western Isles Swing’. Whether you play the six courses upwards or downwards along the 130 mile archipelago you won’t have played such a variety of courses under such a variety of conditions with such breathtaking scenery as you will in the Western Isles of Scotland.

Harris Golf Club
9-hole links course with breathtaking views set on the south west side of the Isle of Harris.
Sollas Golf Course
9-hole links course with Atlantic views set on the west side of the Isle of North Uist.
Benbecula Golf Club
9-hole flat grassland course set on the middle island of the Uists – Benbecula.
Askernish Golf Club
Re-discovered Tom Morris course re-established on scenic machair on the Isle of South Uist.
Barra Golf Club
The ‘Most Westerly’ 9-hole course on the Isle of Barra.
The course at Stornoway Golf Club is set amongst the woodlands of Lews Castle and rises out of these towards the moorlands to the west of the town. An undulating landscape presents the golfer with a course that demands a keen shot-making ability and a canny judgement of distances.
The challenging conditions today didn’t stop Michael Black winning today’s Mens Tennent’s Shield with an impressive nett 66 🏆
Liz Carmichael’s gardening before her game inspired her to a nett 71 to win the Ladies Quaich
Her game certainly faired better than Catherine A Macleod ‘s umbrella ☂️💨 🌧️
Fridays Senior Summer League Stableford Wk2 was won by Neil Clayton with 34 pts ⛳️
Well done to our winners for the US Master Singles Competition last week 🇺🇸 ⛳️
Scott Maciver winning the scratch competition and Oliver Maciver winning the handicap 👏 🏆
The raffle money raised for them to travel to the regional final - they have donated back to the club and which will pay for the battery replacement required for the defib machine.
What an amazing kind gesture 🤩🥰 👏
